Depozitory is an artist run, not for profit organisation housed in a renovated Wesleyan Chapel in central Ryde, Isle of Wight, UK. The Depozitory provides six low cost studio spaces and support for creative professionals, hire gallery space, education and workshop spaces.
The organisation also hosts family workshops, life drawing, choir rehearsals, craft workshops, live performance, dance classes, open studios and a wide range of other activities which offer the local community a quality experience within the arts. Inspiration for logo and branding came from the venue itself. Steeped in history, the building was formerly a place of worship (wesleyan chapel) and a storage warehouse during the first world war.
The building contains large, arched top windows with intricate glass work. The idea developed further by looking at stained glass windows and the image mark became both the letter 'D' and the arched dome shape of the buildings windows with the lead strips inside.
